After recent victories in the legislature, students with disabilities lost out on a recently signed law in California. Schwarzenegger signed AB 1858, which will have a negative impact on the NPS system. Read A2Z’s letter to the governor on this issue. Schwarzeneggar’s veto message can be read at http://www.governor.ca.gov/govsite/pdf/press_release/AB_1858_sign.pdf His message clearly ignores the impact of this law on children with disabilities who are not in foster care.
