Outcome: Middle school Student w/ Bi-polar disorder required a residential placement. A2Z brought in County Mental Health and worked w/ both the District and the County to achieve an appropriate placement for Student.

SN04-00664: This case involves a high school student with Bi-Polar disorder. The student has high cognitive abilities. In addition to FAPE violations, the issues involve failure to provide adequate supervision and a safe environment, which resulted in a violation of the student's civil rights. The Due Process issues included residential placement, services and goals and objectives. A2Z was successful at achieving an appropriate placement for Student as well as compensatory education to address loss of educational benefit for the past year.
