2004, SN 04-XXXX A2Z settled a case involving a 10-year old student with Bi-Polar Disorder. The home elementary school did not want the student to return to the campus due to previous incidents of violent behavior. The behavior occurred prior to the correct diagnosis and prior to medication. Since medication student did not have any physical incidents. District agreed to reimburse parent for placement at private school and provide transportation. In addition, student was awarded compensatory educational therapy to make up for lost education due to the mis-diagnosis and incorrect placement at NPS.
