Allison Berquist

 

Allison Berquist received her J.D from Pepperdine University School of Law, with a certificate in Dispute Resolution and is currently studying to take the California Bar Exam in July 2023. Ms. Berquist also graduated Cum Laude from Union College and received a Master of Education from University of California, Los Angeles.  She is an alum of both the UCLA Teacher Education Program and Teach for America and is passionate about promoting educational equity.

 Ms. Berquist was inspired to advocate for students and families after her experience as a public-school teacher in both Los Angeles and New York City. During her four years in the classroom, she students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and English Language Learners in elementary and middle school settings and brings her background in standards-based curriculum and differentiated instruction to her legal advocacy.

 

 

Prior to joining A2Z, Ms. Berquist externed for the Honorable Judge Lawrence Kahn, where she provided research and memorandum for legal issues involving discrimination based on disability in violation of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. She also served as an intern at the National Health Law Program, providing resources for recipients of Children’s Health Services (CMS) during the Covid-19 Public Health Emergency, and clerked for the nonprofit, Levitt-Quinn Family Law Center.

Ms. Berquist joined A2Z in November 2022 as a paralegal. After she passes the bar exam she will be working as an Associate with A2Z.
