We’re thrilled to share that A2Z’s very own Jane DuBovy, our firm’s dedicated founder, attorney, and a tireless advocate for families navigating the convoluted special education process of the school system, has been invited to join a post-screening Q&A panel for the award‑nominated film Love and Communication.
Love and Communication gives an unfiltered glimpse at what it’s like for parents when they are raising a child on the spectrum. The film shows the struggle of uncooperative school districts, treatment, and the emotional turmoil that ensues from having a child diagnosed with autism. Rather than a romanticized version of the experience, the film shows the raw emotions parents experience in their pursuit of ensuring the appropriate support for their child. The film has been praised for its authenticity and its ability to capture scenarios that many parents who have children with autism know all too well.
As someone who works regularly and closely with families facing these very challenges, Jane DuBovy will bring invaluable insight into the conversation. The panel will explore the film’s themes as well as the realities of advocating for a child in systems that often feel overwhelming and unyielding.
We’re proud to see Jane DuBovy contribute to such an important dialogue as someone who is constantly making families and parents feel empowered rather than overwhelmed. Events like this remind us why advocacy matters: behind every diagnosis, is a child, a family, and a story that deserves to be understood and supported.
